Independence Day Safety
Every year we celebrate the independence of our nation with friends and family. Although we may have become somewhat disconnected with the emotions that filled the hearts of the men that made the decision to declare independence for our country, we still celebrate every year in remembrance of those emotions and the significance of that day over 200 years ago.
Everyone has their own way of celebrating the holiday. No matter how you spend your time on the 4th of July, you are likely looking to have a good time. Alcohol is often included in celebrations of any kind, and on the 4th of July it is no different. Since most people are off of work, this creates a huge potential for drunk driving.
With a high potential for drunk drivers, it is advisable to stay off of the roads on the 4th of July. You might have places you need to be, but if at all possible, you should avoid it. You can never predict when you are going to be in the path of a drunk driver and the potential injuries that could result are not worth the risk.
Law enforcement is also very much aware of this situation and is usually out in full force on this holiday. This means that if you have been drinking you should think twice before driving. Be sure that you are legally capable of driving before you drive a vehicle, because you can’t afford a DWI, not to mention the unnecessary risk you are creating for other drivers on the road.
