Ann M. Scafidi, age 49, from Storrs, CT, was injured Monday night when the motorcycle she was riding was hit from the back by a car. She was riding on I-84 in Danbury, CT at the time of the accident. She has been taken to Danbury hospital, where she is being treated for a reportedly very serious accident. The driver who struck her was Michael Martin, age 41, of Terryville, CT. Lorenzo Jesus Tobar, age 36, of Hempstead, NY, has been charged with murder after intentionally hitting another man with his car around midnight on July 21. The other man, Ludwin Marcia, age 34, had reportedly been dating Tobar's ex-girlfriend Ana Chavez. Chavez and Tobar have an eleven year old son together. Tobar has been charged with second degree murder, vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated. Marcia was pronounced dead minutes after arriving at the hospital. The Clay County, MN, sheriff's department blocked off the right lane of Interstate 94 on the Buffalo River Bridge Sunday night. They were trying to divert traffic around a one-car accident that needed to be investigated and cleaned up. Unfortunately, the scene was complicated around 2:30 A.M. when a vehicle slammed into a parked police car at the scene. Both that car and the police vehicle have been damaged beyond repair. At around 8 pm on Tuesday, July 15, a car spun out of control and hit six pedestrians waiting for a bus at the corner of 79th Street and Cottage Grove Ave. The driver allegedly fled the scene.
