According to the accident report released by the Chicago Police Department, a 17 year-old girl from Park Ridge was exiting a McDonald's parking lot on Northwest Highway shortly after 7:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. Police say the teenager's 200 Pontiac Sunfire struck a 1994 Volvo which was traveling northwest on Northwest Highway. The Pontiac then struck two additional vehicles before colliding with a parked car.

The 17 year-old was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital following the crash. 12 Injured in Chicago Bus Crash

by Administrator 11. May 2010 09:47

Twelve people were injured when a Chicago Transit Authority bus crashed into a school building in the Humboldt Park neighborhood Monday afternoon on the city's west side.

According to CTA spokeswoman Wanda Taylor, shortly after 4:00 p.m. Monday "a westbound No. 66 (Chicago Avenue) bus was involved in a collision with a car that resulted in the bus striking the building." There were twelve passengers on the bus, in addition to the driver, Taylor said.

A witness reported that two other vehicles, a car and a black sport utility vehicle, were involved in the crash. The SUV attempted to pass another vehicle and entered into the lane the bus was traveling in. "The bus driver tried to keep from hitting him, and she (the bus driver) wound up hitting another car," said Richie Driver, 45, who was walking to a neighborhood store when he witnessed the accident.
