One teen was killed and another was injured last week when they were hit by a train traveling from Washington to Chicago.  The pair was struck as they were walking to Springfield High School in Holland, Ohio, close to Toledo.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were trying to beat the train as they were running to school.  The accident was witnessed by several motorists who were stopped at the crossing waiting for the trains to pass.  The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while the girl was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
