Yesterday, an 87-year old man was injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the Northwest Side's Belmont Gardens neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Police, the accident occurred at 3:50 p.m. at the 4400 block of West Fullerton Avenue. Witnesses to the accident told officers that a green Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the man and fled the scene of the accident.
The driver in the accident was reported to have fled to a gas station at the 2400 block of North Kostner Avenue where he exited his vehicle and ran away on foot.
Paramedics took the 87-year old victim to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital where he was listed as being in critical condition.
