Yesterday morning, a 93-year old woman was injured when she was hit by a Loyola Unviersity shuttle bus.
The accident occurred on Chicago's North Side at the intersection of Sheridan Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. Shortly after 10 a.m., the elderly woman was hit by the bus while walking north on Sheridan. The bus was traveling southbound on Sheridan and was turning left into the eastbound lanes of Bryn Mawr when it struck the pedestrian.
Paramedics took the 93-year old woman to Advocate Illinois Medical Center with multiple injuries, including a broken nose. The hospital listed the woman as being in critical condition, but she later improved to serious but stable condition.
Police cited the bus driver with failure to yield to the right of way of a pedestrian.
