An investigation by the Chicago Tribune has found that nearly half of the car seats used in a government crash test failed. 31 of the 66 seats malfunctioned in the crash tests, but the report was never published and no car seats were recalled.
Following the investigation, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has said that it will review car seat safety regulations. Unfortunately, the Department of Public Health has stated that most car seat injuries are the result of improper installation.
