Couple wins $1 million in legal malpractice suit

A Pennsylvania couple was recently awarded $1 million in a legal malpractice lawsuit filed against a law office in South Whitehall Township that was handling their personal injury claim.  According to the lawsuit, the law group made a mistake in handling the personal injury lawsuit and hid the error from the couple.

One of the attorneys with the group was accused of creating fake court papers to hide a missed deadline to file suit in 2004 concerning a car accident in 2002.  The lawyer never informed the clients that he had missed the statute of limitations and the couple continued paying him as if their case would be considered.

The couple was attempting to file suit against the driver that struck their vehicle and left one with a spinal injury that caused spasms and a subsequent car accident.  The man was even more seriously injured in the second accident cause by his injuries from the first accident.
