Driver injured after accident, car catches fire

Sunday afternoon, a driver was injured in a two-vehicle car accident in Chicago's West Side near the North Lawndale neighborhood.  According to Chicago Fire Department spokesperson Richard Rosado, the accident occurred at around 4:25 P.M. at the intersection of Fillmore Street and Pulaski Road when two cars collided.

After colliding, one of the vehicles crashed into a concrete viaduct and caught fire.  The driver was pinned and trapped inside the vehicle until paramedics and emergency crews were able to rescue them.  The victim was transported to the Mount Sinai Hospital where they were listed as being in serious to critical condition.
