wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against a Chicago driver after she allegedly caused a fatal accident because she was updating her Facebook on her cellphone.  The daughter of 70-year old Raymond Veloz, who was killed in the accident, filed the suit against 21-year old Araceli Beas.

The suit was filed after investigators discovered that Beas' Facebook page had been updated at 7:54 A.M. on December 7, 2010, at the same time that Veloz's cell phone records said he placed a call to 9-1-1.

The lawsuit claims that Beas was inattentive in her driving, failed to slow to avoid an accident and used an electronic device while driving.
