The first snowmobile in New York state has occurred and it's only October. The first accident occurred and not a single snowflake had even touched the ground.
The accident occurred when a 23 year old man was testdriving his friend's snowmobile in his friend's backyard. The testride was going well until the testdriver hit the breaks. At this point the snowmobile skidded and slid into a tree.
The testdriver wasn't wearing a helmet. When the snowmobile hit the tree, the rider was thrown from the snowmobile. When he hit the ground, he apparently broke his left leg. He was also bleeding from his ear. Police called for a helicopter to air lift the man to the hospital but he chose to go by ambulance instead.
