Matthew C. Friedman, J.D.

Matthew C. Friedman is a seasoned trial attorney. Mr. Friedman is a lifelong native of the Chicago area and the son of a suburban mayor. Mr. Friedman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University, in Bloomington, Indiana. Mr. Friedman then graduated from the DePaul University College of Law.

Mr. Friedman has handled thousands of civil cases, many involving catastrophic injuries, resulting in settlements or verdicts in the millions of dollars. These include the following types of cases: medical malpractice, automobile collisions, products liability, construction negligence, premises liability, toxic poisonings, and civil rights, amongst others. Mr. Friedman has tried cases in state and federal court, and has argued before the Illinois Appellate Court. Mr. Friedman has also lectured at legal seminars and he has been published in peer reviewed legal journals.

Mr. Friedman has been admitted to practice law in every state court in the State of Illinois and is a member of the trial bar for the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Friedman is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, American association for Justice and Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Friedman has been included amongst the ranks of some of the finest trial lawyers in America and, as such, has been named a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The settlements and verdicts Mr. Friedman has obtained for his clients include a settlement in a medical malpractice claim for 4.5 million dollars, verdicts in medical malpractice cases for 3.5 and 1.5 million, a settlement in a construction injury case for 1 million dollars, a settlement in an automobile collision/wrongful death claim for 1.28 million dollars, and numerous other settlements and verdicts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars or more.
